Schynige Platte, 1967 metres above sea level and opposite the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau, is reached by cogwheel railway from Wilderswil near Interlaken. Wilderswil is reached by motorway from Lucerne or Bern, exit No. 25, (parking spaces at the bottom station) or by train from Interlaken Ost.
The cogwheel railway trip up to Schynige Platte is a unique and unforgettable experience in itself. Schynige Platte, in the middle of a magnificent mountain world, is the starting point for a host of beautiful hikes in the Jungfrau Region.
