Schynige Platte, 1967 metres above sea level and opposite the Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau, is accessed by cogwheel railway from Wilderswil near Interlaken. Wilderswil is reached by motorway from Lucerne or Bern, exit No. 25, (parking spaces at the bottom station) or train from Interlaken Ost, see SBB timetable.
The cogwheel railway trip up to Schynige Platte is a unique and unforgettable experience in itself. Schynige Platte, in the middle of a magnificent mountain world, is the starting point for a host of beautiful hikes in the Jungfrau Region.

Der Eingang zum Alpengarten befindet sich unmittelbar neben der Bergstation der Schynige Platte Bahn. Er ist mit einem Rundgang in ca. 30 Minuten bis zu 4 Stunden (Hauptweg 420 m, mit Nebenwegen ca. 1 km) zu durchwandern, je nach Interesse des Besuchers. Auf Wunsch werden auch Führungen angeboten.
